Maria Sakellariou is Dean of the Faculty of ‘Social Sciences and Humanities’ at the University of Limassol in Cyprus https://www.uol.ac.cy/el/faculty-d-of-education/ and Professor Emeritus of the University of Ioannina https://ecedu.uoi.gr/former_faculty/ She is a member of the Board of Directors of the “International Center for Cultural Sciences and Education” (DIKEPE). She served as Head of the Department of Early Childhood Education at the University of Ioannina (01/10/13 to 30/11/2017), Director of the Postgraduate Studies Program. in “Early Childhood Education” with six Departments (01.09.2014 to 30.11.2019), Director of the “Pedagogical and Teaching Methodology” Laboratory of the Pedagogical Department of Early Childhood Education (2012-2024) https://earlychildhoodpedagogy.gr Visiting Professor at the University of Cyprus, at the European University of Cyprus, at the Postgraduate Studies Program “Gender and New Technologies in Education” of the TEPAES of the University of the Aegean. She has been teaching for several years at the Postgraduate Program “Critical Pedagogy” of the University of Crete and at the Transnational Postgraduate Program of the National University of Cyprus and the University of Cyprus “Counseling Psychology and Pedagogy”. She participates as a Coordinator or Member in Committees for the External Evaluation of University Study Programs of the Agency for Quality Assurance and Certification in Higher Education (DIPAE) of the Republic of Cyprus. She is a National Representative in the Research Program: Workforce profiles in systems of early childhood education and care in Europe, German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth & UCL www.seepro.eu She is Scientific Manager of the European Program ISLE “Collaborative Learning Communities for Redesigning Primary Education Towards Innovative & Sustainable Learning Environments” for Greece and the University of Ioannina https://isleproject.eu/ She has participated as a coordinator or scientific associate in many National and European Programs.Her research interests focus on issues of Pedagogy through Modern and Innovative Educational Programs with the philosophy of the “universal” 17 Sustainable Development Goals (UN), especially in the cognitive areas of Inclusion, Educational Effectiveness, Teaching Methodology, Curriculum Design and Evaluation. She is the author (alone or in collaboration) of 31 books from National and International publishing houses, has edited Proceedings of National and International Conferences and has published more than 260 articles in reputable International Journals, in Collective Volumes and Conference Proceedings. She has organized many National and International Conferences and has edited Special Issues from reputable International Scientific Journals upon Invitation.
