The “Mediterranean One Health Innovation Center”, Supporter at the European ONE-Bridge Conference (8–11 December 2025, Patras)

Within the framework of the European project ONE-Bridge (“One Health Nexus: Bridging Human, Animal, and Environmental Health Across Europe”), co-funded by the European Union, the European ONE-Bridge Conference was held in Patras, Greece, from 8 to 11 December 2025.

The conference was organized by the Laboratory of Hygiene of the University of Patras, in collaboration with TU Dresden, the ISGlobal Research Institute of Barcelona, and CNRS (France). It brought together scientists, policymakers, and key stakeholders from across Europe, aiming to foster knowledge exchange, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and develop joint strategies within the One Health framework.

The conference covered key thematic areas, including:

  • Preventing Human and Zoonotic Disease Transmission: A One Health Perspective
  • Combating Antimicrobial Resistance through Integrated Policies
  • Climate Change and Health: An Integrated Approach to Resilience
  • Leveraging Digital Innovation to Advance One Health

The “Mediterranean One Health Innovation Center”, (MED-OHC) participated in the conference as a Supporter. In particular, within the session “Climate Change and Health”, held on 10 December 2025, MED-OHC took part in a dedicated panel focusing on the role of civil society in addressing the Climate Crisis and advancing the One Health approach.

MED-OHC was represented by Professor Zaharoula Andreopoulou, Chair of the Scientific Council, Professor of Forest Informatics & Technologies for Green Regional Policy, Director of the Laboratory of Forest Informatics, and Director of the postgraduate programme “Tourism and Local Development” at the Faculty of Forestry and Natural Environment, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Professor Andreopoulou shared her extensive experience and expertise in the field of One Health through her presentation entitled:
“The One Health Approach: One Health – One Planet: A Resilience Approach!”
