As part of continuous engagement and ongoing work on One Health, Dr. Christos Zafeiridis, a member of the Antimicrobial Resistance Group, and Ms. Eleni Pavlidou, Chair of the Board of Directors, represented the “Mediterranean One Health Innovation Centre” at a meeting with Mr. Panagiotis Mylonas, Director General of the Benaki Phytopathological Institute.

Meeting on the One Health Strategy

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the One Health strategy and related issues, with particular emphasis on food security.

In addition, a guided tour of the Institute’s laboratories was conducted. The Institute is the first research institute established in Greece in 1929 and has a broad scientific scope covering:

• plant health
• plant protection
• risk assessment
• the safe use of agricultural pesticides for humans and the environment
• the safety of agricultural products and food
