Great Success for the “One Health – One Planet” Forum co-organized by MED – OHC in Thessaloniki

On Friday, November 28, in the “Manolis Anagnostakis” Hall of the Thessaloniki City Hall, the event–Forum titled “One Health – One Planet: Environment – Society – Well-being: Our Common Tomorrow” was held with great success. The event was organized by the Vafopouleio Cultural Center in collaboration with the Mediterranean One Health Innovation Center MED-OHC.

During the event, it was emphasized that One Health is becoming increasingly important in a world that is rapidly changing. Natural disasters, zoonotic diseases, and extreme phenomena directly affect people’s daily lives, health, the economy, and social cohesion. Moreover, they remind us that humans, animals, and the environment form a single, interconnected whole in which the disruption of one part affects all the others.

The aim of the event was to initiate a meaningful discussion on the need for prevention, timely response, and holistic policies that safeguard both people and the ecosystem so that we can all work together to build a better future.

The Forum featured outstanding speakers from Thessaloniki and Athens:
Ms. Zacharoula Andreopoulou – Chair of the Scientific Committee of Med-OHC, Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Director of the AUTh Postgraduate Program “Tourism and Local Development”.
Dr. Dimitris Skoutas – Diabetologist and Special Advisor to the Mayor of Thessaloniki for Municipal Clinics.
and Ms. Korina Liouta – Head of the Amarousion Health Center and former President of the Sikiarideio Foundation.
