Kyriakos Giallourakis holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Public and One Health at the University of Thessaly and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Policy: Economics, Management and Health Policies at the University of the Peloponnese. He has also completed numerous professional courses and certifications offered by the World Health Organization (WHO), the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), and other academic and professional institutions.
He serves as President of the Alumni Association of the Department of Public and One Health, University of Thessaly, and President of One Health Students Greece, the largest interdisciplinary student network in Greece dedicated to the One Health approach.
In addition, he has extensive experience and collaborates with scientific and professional organizations in Greece and abroad. His current roles include: Research Fellow at the Laboratory of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Machine Learning, Department of Public and One Health, University of Thessaly; Member and Operational Officer of the Hellenic Institute for Crisis and Disaster Management in the field of Civil Protection; Full Member of the Hellenic Scientific Society for Biosecurity; Registered Member of the Hellenic Society of Emergency Prehospital Care; Member of the World Health Organization’s Young Researchers’ Forum; Member of the International Student One Health Alliance; Student Member of the Royal Society for Public Health (United Kingdom); Member of the American College of Epidemiology, serving on both the Membership Committee and the Publications Committee; Member of the European Federation of Biotechnology; and certified Adult Educator, Stop the Bleed Instructor, Lifeguard, First Responder, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) Specialist.
His research interests focus on advancing research and education in One Health, interdisciplinary approaches to biosecurity and health crisis management, and health economics and management within the field of public health.
