Prof. Dr. Gamil Sayed Gamil Zeedan is a renowned expert in the field of Microbiology and Virology.
He currently holds the position of Professor of Virology and Infectious Diseases at the National Research Center, Ministry of High Education, in Cairo, Egypt.
With a specialization in virology, Prof. Zeedan has dedicated his career to the study and understanding of viruses, their detection, and their impact on human and animal health.He serves as a reviewer for several international journals, including the International Journal of Advanced. Prof. Zeedan has focused on different aspects of virology and microbiology. His research interests include the study of human and animal viruses such as Rift Valley Fever Virus, Bovine Ephemeral Fever Virus, H5N1 Avian Influenza Viruses, Pox Viruses, Para pox Virus, and Equine Influenza Virus.
He is experienced in isolating and propagating viruses and bacteria in cell culture, virus quantification and identification techniques, protein characterization methods, molecular characterization techniques, bacterial culture and isolation, and bioinformatics skills. With over two decades of experience, Prof. Zeedan has held various positions in prestigious institutions. From 1993 to 2002, he served as a Lecturer Assistant of Virology at the National Research Center in Cairo, Egypt.
He then progressed to the role of Lecturer of Virology at the National Research Center from 2002 to 2007. Later, from 2007 to 2010, he worked as an Assistant Researcher at the National Research Center. In 2010, he joined the Faculty of Medicine and Applied Medical Sciences at Northern Border University in Saudi Arabia as an Assistant Professor of Microbiology and Virology.
He served as the Head of the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Department at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Shaqra University, Saudi Arabia, from 2013 to 2016. Since 2016, Prof. Zeedan has been serving as an Associate Professor of Microbiology and Virology at the National Research Center in Cairo, Egypt. In 2019, he was promoted to the position of Professor, solidifying his reputation as an esteemed expert in his field.
